In the past 10 years, as a volunteer, I have set up a climate group and helped start a repair café. I am currently working with Collaboration for Change and Reclaim the Enlightenment. I have an interest in equality and particularly the intersection of sectarianism and racism. One huge lesson I have learned is how useful it is to stand in the future and describe the scene from there.
In my future I am: “..contented, relaxed, empowered and breathing clean fresh air, living in a country powered entirely by renewable energy. All inequalities across the planet were systematically eliminated on our way to the organisation of our new society.
Our society is woven together by free, widespread and accessible public transport and there are safe cycle lanes everywhere. The economy’s largest sectors are those caring for one another and for the planet. Those that do choose to work, there is a universal basic income, have high-wages. The working week is 3 days, giving time to enjoy our loved ones and flourish in our communities. We have Mutual Banks investing our money in local community wealth projects, a progressive income tax is paid.
I'd like to live in this future :)
